Default 400 Small Block?

How well do all of the accessory brackets and other stuff bolt up to a 400 block? Are there any problems commonly run into when putting all of the stock stuff on the 400 block?

The heads are going to present the problems, but that is easily solved with a drill and tap!
Easy work. Any engine shop should be able to handle something like this.
Good Luck,

Felpro has a new gasket that is supposed to help with cooling issues of the 400 block. It was in the latest Chevy High Performance.

Only other major issue is the harmonic balancer-if you don't get an aftermarket small diam. (no I didn't!!) then you'll have to cut a notch in the front frame rail to clear it. PIA if you don't figure that one out till the engines in and you press on the balancer!!!!

Haven't explored the problems associated with the swap but your 90 has a one piece crank seal-so the crank, oil pan, flywheel, etc won't change over.

I know it has been done and seems a perfect choice...
