Hi CFI EFI ,I noticed when I switched on the heater the valve would actuate by vacuum but I wasn't getting any heat.I am just trying to determine if its the heater core or the valve. The heater door is closing am going to get a heater core tomorrow and see what happens I have got the core almost out .what a pain.
Why throw money at it? Make sure water is flowing through the heater core first or see if water will flow past the valve and is returning from the core.
Well Art it was a toss up.I started on the heater core first and then decided to pull the valve .I dont think the valve is working properly.I ran water through it holding the valve open and only one side seems to flow good. You're right i dont want to throw money away but getting to the heater core was so stinking hard I am not going to put it back together without a new one cause they are only $45 and I have to many cuts and scrapes to not put it in.I know I cold try to flush the core out but I have seen where this only works some of the times.

Diagnosing takes too long. We Corvette owners are filthy rich and it is satisfying to throw money at a problem. Testing parts could rob us of an opportunity.
Now,now CFI-EFI ,chill out .I did diagnose the problem and even used the search site. This is what I came up with. It is commin for the heater valves to go bad. and guess what mine was bad.I saw a post by Agent 86 where he cut the valve out and ran the hoses direct to the heater core. He even sent me a picture of his setup.I did the same to mine with the old core and now have heat. Thanks for everybody's help.
