Default Please Read, problems after installation...3 seconds only...

I installed new shorty headers, new O2 sensors, new MSD Pro-Billet Optic Distributor, new MSD Blaster Coil, new MSD wires and new OEM AC plugs.

The Vette started right away and lasted 2 seconds, tried again, lasted 2-3 seconds, again, 3 seconds. I tried a fourth time and this one lasted a bit longer. The idle was a "perfect" idle, no shaking, no misfiring

I checked all connections, all are ok, all breathers and vacuums are plugged so, I decided to stop, disconnected the battery and wrapped it for the night.

Any toughts or ideas, what the heck may be wrong?

Put a gage on and check the fuel pressure at start up. If it drops like a rock check the oil pressure switch/relay as it has to be on to continue running the Fuel pump after start up.

Looks like you changed out the distributor. Have you checked the timing? Maybe its a bit low.

I was thinking about this one. The car always starts and dies just about three seconds. I tried giving it fuel and died. I guess, I'll turn the screw to advance timing. I'll try that and if I'm unsuccessful...I'll come back here.

This is the part I don't like about the MSD, random timing adjustments. To me the timing should be adjusted through the PCM.

If it starts and idles fine as you said DO NOT adjust the timing. Check your fuel first.

I thought this was an L98 so a timing change would be an easy test.
Is the timing on the LT1 checked the same way as the L98s so he can check where the base timing is at?

I do agree that the fuel system could do this. What is the fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch start/run sequence for the fuel system on a 95?
All I have is the manual for an 86.

There is no timing marker on an LT1, timing has to be scanned to be checked.

I checked the fuel pressure...good
I played with timing turning the screw both ways...good, put it back to original position
I replaced the MSD coil and installed the AC Delco...good

Still, the same. It starts strong, a perfect idle then dies. I triple checked all connections, under the O2 sensors, and all relays are up.

I'm going crazy, I'm mad and fustrated

Other than a major coincidence, The new Opti is only thing you installed that would produce that sort of problem. Hope its not defective.

If the pro-billet was to be defective, the car would not start with so perfect idle. Am I wrong?

Does it hold the fuel pressure when the car dies?

I don't get it I told you to check your fuel pressure when it is running and you come back with a fuel pressure is fine. What is fine what is it before start after start and after key shut off. THAT is a fuel pressure check. If you ask for help at least try and follow the easy stuff.I still put my money on the Oil Pressure switch or relay/Fuel starvation(remote chance of plugged filter) till you say the fuel pressure is around 40psi when it dies.

Yes, the fuel is about 40-42 PSI. The pressure does not go down while it dies. The oil was changed shortly before about 2k miles max (Mobil 1).

OK so now we have 2 of the 3 things you need Fuel and air. Gotta start looking at spark then. Got a timing light? Check for spark. Got any codes? Try pulling them usually if it is electrical there will be one.
