1 98 - Valve Seals, stem locks
I received a Felpro Valve Stem Seal kit for exhaust and intake valves on the net and it has an "O" ring and a plastic cap peice with a rubber gasket inside that I assume fits over the cylinder head valve guide.
Whats the best way to remove the old seals?
Also - will the stock valve stem keepers work with the LT 4 spring caps/retainers? I was short ordered on the keepers and will use the stock keepers if they fit.
Thanks

I would NEVER try and reuse the OEM locks, get a set of forged locks that fit the new retainers, i.e 7deg or 10deg whichever is the retainers.

The old "O" rings will probably fall apart in your hands, use a cloth to wipe these off. The old seals should just slide up the stem and slip off.The plastic tube is used to fit over the valve stem to cover the groove in the stem so when you push the new seals onto the stem they are not cut up by the valve groove. I dipped my new seals in clean oil to help them slide over the stem. Then rolled on the new "O" rings and pulled off the plastic tube.
GOOD LUCK
