I have a 91 vete that gets pretty warm on the temp guage when sitting at stop lights in town. Do the Tempurature sending units for the radiator fan that turn fan on at 200 and off at 185 degrees work? I've seen these in Ecklers and Mid America Motorworks catalogs.
I had the same issue with my 92. I had the chip reprogrammed (if I am using the correct terminology) and ever since then not a problem. the temp stays at 180 no matter what. also did the throttle body by pass. not sure if this also helped. I know in 92 they went to the LT 1so I am not sure if these fixes would apply to the 92s.

I would also check to make sure you don't have debris wedged between the radiator and condensor, that your air-dam is not damaged, and that both fans are both working.

Good luck.
I've read in so many places that the optimum burn temp for LT1 is between 205 and 230.
you would be amaized not only what gets lodged in there but how much crap gets stuck in the fins that you should pressure wash our. pull that radiator and pressure wash it from the back side, you will have more dirt & crap fly out the front. i have a heavily modded motor that use to run waaaay too hot. after cleaning everything and ditching the AC all togeather i can run somwhat cool on a stock radiator. griffin on the way for summer but still, it made a huge improvement.
