Anyone ever replace the bushing that goes where the red circle is? I F'd up my headlights last night due to the rubber stop getting caught in some wiring. When I opened the hood to check on it, I bent the hell out of the metal that attaches the headlight door to the motor ( I don't know what to call it )
Well with the help of Blue 92, I got it apart and pounded it into shape, but unfortunately, lost the bushing where the circle is. I sure didn't think this small plastic part would amount to much, but sure enough, it appears to give it JUST enough play to keep the door from aligning with the hood 100% It's close, but I notice it and it's bugging me. Has any one ever just replaced this bushing and if so where did you get it. I've searched and can't find anything and REALLY don't want to replace the whole thing for what appears to be a 10 cent piece
Also has anyone ever found a replacement for the metal piece. I'd like to get one that isn't bent to hell.
Check with you local GM dealer. Other wise your going to have to fab something out of brass. In the mean time if your no driving it at night often wrap the ball in electrical tape to snug it up and remove the slop.
