Perhaps you should give us a bit more information on the car's setup as well as how fast you are currently trapping.
If you're drag racing then slicks would be the way to go with skinnies up front. The diameter of the slicks to maximize your preformance will be determined by your current trap speed, rear end gearing, transmission, and redline.
If you are looking at doing a steet setup I would suggest getting some 17x11 rims for the back and some 315's. BFGoodrich KB's work pretty well for me.
I run 315/35/17 bfg drag radials at 18-20lbs at the track. Leaving off idle it's enough but if you have a converter and lots of power, the mickey thompson 315 drag radials are the ticket. They've got dana 44 breaking hook.
