Thought I might put this out there and see if anyone else has the same problem and maybe a different fix. When I first bought my vert a couple years ago I noticed on the way home with it that the rear view mirror was starting to droop. The closer to home I got the limper it seemed to be. By the time I was home it had given up the ghost and just hung there. After inspecting the two ball joints that provide for adjustment, I noticed that at one time a plastic washer had been installed in order to give it some resistance to movement. That was long gone. So I set the mirror in the best position for me and then I drilled the lower ball and tapped it out to fit an 8-32 screw. After installing the screw I dabbed a bit of marker ink on top and Voila! No more droop.
Close! You need the [and] in there too, the brackets. In your Photobucket album you can just press the IMG code box and it will copy the link for you too. Then right click and paste!
Alright, there we are, now I'm a professional IMG Paster. Thanks for the lessons I think I got it. I guess everyone has to learn sometime. Sorry for all the trivial posts but now I think I've learned something. TM-06 I thought of that too, but I was concerned about build up and eventually drying out. But, hey, if it works that's another use for 3M.
By the way, now that I see the full sized picture I guess I'll be washing the car a bit more carefully this weekend.
