Unless you do it once a week, then it's 2 hours. Count all your screws.
With or without including checking out resultant strange noises? With or without including changing pistons? Worse case scenario, figure about 30 days and 400+ posts.

I just swapped the injectors on my '88 and the project is still in progress. I removed:
-the AIR pipe from pump to diverter
-AIR diverter
-TB & plenum
-RH side runner
-LH side runner, loosened only
But I had to deal with the pressure line leaking fuel for a while and then nearly cross threades the fitting on reassembly; the latter took an hour to unf--k... Now working on a leak at the 9th injector plumbing.
Without the fuel leaking issues I'd guess the job would have taken me around 3-4hrs.
you will spend 3-4 hours scrapping gaskets... especially if it is the first time it's been apart. 20 yo gaskets need a single edge razor, patience, and a can of gasket remover. It's a full weekend job the 1st time around.

Why does it leak ? Bad O-Ring ? not enough torque ?
I have a 89 that has leaking injectors, how much time should it take to tear everything down and put back together with good skills??
Depends on what you want to do? I did mine on a weekend but I took the time to clean and paint, replace anything I could while I was doing the injectors. There is even a write up here as to how to do them without removing the runners so it could be as little as 2-3 hrs...depends on how cold the beer is Just a word of advice...if this is the first time, mark everything clearly to help with re-installation and clean the plenum, tb and runners well.

I also put new O rings in the fuel rails. My actual RR time was 2-3 hours it took me longer cause I cleaned everything in sight
Have you experienced a leaking faucet in your apartment/house? You can see the water dripping from the nozzle with the water turned off. A leaking injector will leak fuel (under pressure) just as a faucet will leak water. If the leaking process happens during the operation of the engine, the ECM will have a difficult time controlling the air to fuel ratio and the car will run like crap!
I just replaced my injectors. I also rebuilt my fuel rails with new gaskets and O rings. I used duct tape to seal the injector and intake holes to keep stuff out of my engine. I installed a new fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail. I rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator. I cleaned the throttle body I cleaned and polished everything.
I spent about 8 hrs on it. I believe we should forget about the time and do it right.
