How do I know if my '95 has a tuner in it. The previous owner thinks the person he bought it from said it had 1 in it. No idea what brand or anything else about it. He owned the car for 9+ years.
You mean the chip was tuned, without checking the chip with a stock chip there is not away to tell. Your chip can be flashed burned, which means you can hook a chip programmer and change air/fuel ratio's, get it to ignore certain sensors and so on.
But you can probably find a Forum member local who could scan it and take a look. You just need to download the PCM calibration and compare with a known stock calibration.
I really am dumb when it comes to the PCM Tuner. That is why I leave my 'Vettes stock.
The cooling fan (with a/c off) comes on at 193/194 and does not shut off. The highest I've seen the temp go is 198, and that is at idle in South Florida traffick.
Even when the temp drops to 190 while driving, the fan stays on. This is driving me nuts, I hate that noise.
My '93 & '96 never did that, but they sure ran hotter. At least the fan would cycle on and off in traffic.
The shift from 1st to 2nd is awfully hard, 2nd to 3rd is softer, and of course from 3rd to 4th is softer yet.
All of this leads me to believe that it has been PCM tuned.

That won't do any good. You need to do some reading about how your car operates, or, just take it to a Corvette shop and have them change the fan settings. From what you have said so far you don't want to open the hood.
I guess the relays control the fans operating temps, are they programmed into the PCM, or are they purchased seperately and installed to lower or raise the fan operating range? I notice that some after market companies offer higher or lower fan relays.
I do know something about these cars, just not familiar with the PCM. I don't want to bring it to someone and have them tell me I need this and that.
I'll live with the fans if I have to. Planning on selling the car soon anyway, just wanted to know it is ok before selling it.
Sorry dude you know very little about these cars if you think the relay is what you change to set the fan temp.
WOW !!!!
Dude ???
What did I ever do to you other than ask advise? I never said I was a "know it all", all I said is that I know something about these cars.
I am dumb when it comes to the PCM and all that it controls, never having had to do anything with it.
I thought asking our great membership would be the smart thing to do. If you can't respond with any words of wisdom, then please do not respond at all. All I'm trying to do is find out why the fan runs at a steady temperature. I think the PCM has been changed, and was seeking advice, not criticism. If I was a "know it all" I wouldn't be asking for help from our brothers and sisters.
