Default Horsepower estimate

I have a 92 LT1 that I have just started doing things to. I am estimating the horsepower to be between 320 and 330 at the crank. What do you think? and also what do you think would be at the wheels?

thanks

92 LT1
K&N filter and cut lid
throttle body bypass
Magnaflow mufflers
1.6 roller rockers and lt4 springs
(i know these are NOT major improvements but i feel every lil bit counts)

Those mods may warrant 10-15 HP if youre lucky.Thats a big IF.

Without changing the cam, heads,or exhaust, youre not gonna see much with most internally stock engines with simple stuff.

You should have done a baseline dyno..see what Power the car has now,and then after the mods.Without even knowing your mileage, whos to say the engine isnt a bit tired or not?

The K&N filter and TB bypass won't give any power at all, and the cut lid barely does anything more than increase air flow. The mufflers might give a couple horses along with a bit of torque, but mostly its the rockers that added about 5 or so. You're looking at 310-315 at the very most, and that's if the motor performs as well as it was rated for.

As for the wheels, you didn't specify if you have a manual or automatic. For manual, you can estimate the power loss of the IRS to be, conservatively, around 10-12%. Think upwards of 15-20% for automatic.

You should go for long-tube headers as your next mod. With your current mods, it's probably the best next step.

That, or an aggressive cam to go with those new rockers. Headers can be a pain if you plan on doing them yourself, but I suppose the cam can be just the same. Or there's always going for the intake.. but the stock LT1 was pretty good as is.
