I'm trying the MSD optispark and already have an MSD coil, and was thinking about adding their spark control module as well.
I haven't seen anyone with a C4 do this yet. It appears to be an easy install to replace the standard ignition module and replace with the MSD. Is anyone doing this?
A new ignition module is $100 and an MSD is $184, the prices seem to be converging...
There have been a bunch of threads on these. I had one on a previous turbo car and it left me stranded. I made jumped wires to quickly switch from the box back to stock. After it failed the third time I left the box off and didn't notice any difference in performance aside from the money loss causing less weight.

Are your coil and module bad?
The module's fine, but they're not known for being robust. It does, however, look like my coil's bad but it could also be the optispark, further troubleshooting will reveal the truth...
I see a lot of threads about the MSD optispark, but haven't seen one about the actual ignition box.
i have the whole msd setup (opti, coil, 6al plus box) on mine and i love it. i havent had any problems with anything. i use the 6al plus for the nitrous, it retards the timing when the nitrous is activated. the opti is sweet also, easy to install and i like the vented part of the opti. it uses vacuum to vent so there will be no moisture. if you have the money i recommed the setup.

I have two of the three components, I just may add the 6AL.
if you ever plan on spraying the car go ahead and get the 6al plus. it has dual adjustable rev limiters and you can retard the timing up to ten degrees in tenths of a degree increments.
