I'm having my hatch repainted, and will need a new vinyl protector strip.
I know some folks , bought the after market static cling type, but have a problem keeping them on. The GM one is like $125., don't know if it has adhesive back . Anyone have any recommendations , or tricks up their sleeves, thanks Jim.
Just did my bright red 87 vert and I went to a local sign/decal shop guy. He made me up a clear strip normally used for rock guard purposes. It won't come off unless you really want it off and the clear is almost invisible. You can also get it in various colours.
The strips are all cut from a standard piece of vinyl about 3ft wide and 4ft to 5ft long. He also threw in 2 other strips a wee bit smaller to stick on top of the one stuck to the deck as sort of an easily replacable sacrifical strip when they get too scratched up. The sacrifical strips would have been waste otherwise.
