Default 85 Vette...Voltage problems

Having problems with keeping 14.4 volts on my vette. I have swapped out the alternator twice, one 108 and 120 amps. Both showed same issues. Therefore believe it not to be an alternator issue.

Anyone else had this problem?

I did have the battery warrantied out, but cant get above 11.6 now with previous alternator. So, new battery, same alternator same problem.

What I have done...check all fuses to see if there was any issues...(I.e power windows, power seats, radio...) none showed an increase in volts. I have an DVM to test the engine tonight.

Any suggestions?

You do want the bigger alternator, at least 120 amp. You might also check the red wire (bolted to the alternator). Is the connector the wire fits in large enough to fit the entire wire? If not, and there are wires that will not fit into the connector that could be your problem.
