And by the way, if you can find a jack-a-vette, they work pretty well.

What I've been doing is figuring out a way to use my home built ramps that are 9" tall. I decided to place them under the rear wheels with the ramps extending rearward. I went to Homer Depot's and got some 4"x4"x8' pieces. I cut them into 16" lengths. Using some 3/4 plywood from the shed and some odd 2x4 and 2x6 pieces also cut to 16" I used decking screws and began stacking the wood. 3 of the 4x4's w/ 16x16 plywood to make one level. The next level is 3 more 4x4's at 90* to those on the bottom. These were screwed to the opposite side of the plywood, with a 2nd piece of plywood screwed to the top of the 2nd row of 4x4's. Finally, a third plywood square screwed to the bottom of the stack for stability and then the 2x6 and 2x4 pieces flat against the last piece of plywood. By the way I had some 1x2 so I cut that to use as wheel
stops on the top of the stacks. This gave me almost 12" of lift to put under the front wheels. My 17" max jackstands don't even reach the jacking rail now. If I get the time and re-figure out how to post pics, I'll put some up so you guys can see what I did.
