Default bad idle at stop lights...

1991 L98 26,550 miles... It seems like a misfire.

I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, gas filter and module. It still has a intermittent spark issue? It shakes and surges only when its hot. (in drive at an idle) No problem WOT. It does the same thing in park or neutral. But its more noticeable in drive. I Checked the timing. Good.
My friend pulled each wire off while at an idle in drive. He said sometimes there was no difference when he pulled the wire off.
Whats left the coil?

this is a pain in the ***.

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

It is your lovely Multec Fuel Injectors. Mine is doing the exact same thing and I am getting ready to replace them so i can enjoy my car this summer. My car has 90k on it so you can imagine how bad it is. It has actually died a couple of times. My suggestion would be to OHM them out to see how bad they are.

Default problem?

i am going the same thing here! ive done the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and coil, and ive checked for vaccuum leaks. ive been told to check and clean the Idle Air Control, so thats next on my list. im gonna also check the injectors because it seems to be the consensus on this page! you are not alone!

What years are the other cars on this page, the Multec injector plague was supposedly on the 90 and 91 model years. Would be interesting to know.

mine is a 89 with 105k and runs like a CHAMP, but in drive, after it warms up, the idle fluctuates from 500 to 700 rpms, kind of pulsating. tomorrow im gonna check for engine codes and go from there. Next on the list, assuming no codes, are Idle Air Control and prayers!

Does it idle okay when cold or is it rough too? Usually when it misfires after warmed up it's the injectors - I'd bet my money on it. If it does when cold too, however, it may be a different animal altogether.

Default injectors? ? ?

mine idles great until it warms up and the idle settles below 800 rpms. than at stop lights, the fun begins. it is embarring because my vette is SUPER CLEAN and sounds mean with exhaust, then at the light the miss is ugly! is this a common problem? can i test the injectors? if the are bad, what are some upgraded injectors youd recommend? thanks!
