Dash out / alternator surge ? and code 23 AGAIN
I was driving along today fairly happily when my coolant temp display suddenly switched to battery voltage with a red warning light...it went up as high as 19v and then my dash crashed then died completely...
this is quite worrying..i got to my destination....i checked the voltage at the battery and alternator when off and checked when running...when running getting a clean 14.2v on both battery and alternator...now i know that a voltage surge is normally down to the alternator voltage regulator but it wasnt doing it after i stopped?
could this be a digi dash fault?? if so what do i do and where do i look!!! i have checked the fuses in the passenger compartment and all seem fine Sad just when i think i am getting somewhere Sad
the code 23 that had cleared for 2 whole days ( MAT sensor reading LOW ) has now returned Sad originally i recconected the vaccum tube at the back of the plenum and that seemed to solve it...but it is back...i should add the car is running very poorly...worse when cold..it cut out on me on the way home and is very reluctant...
i am coming to my whits end..lol Sad
