pinging under load??
usually in warmer weather. I run mid-grade 89 octane gas. anyone got a fix for this?? Thanks...

The knock-sensor should be stopping it but until you get that fixed: Use better gas and less timing advance. That will protect your motor. If it starts any pinging, take your foot out of it now. A little detonation can do a lot of damage. One more cheap thing to do. Add two bottles of fuel injector cleaner to the tank premium gas. If your fuel system is a little dirty, it could be leaning out under load. The computer should still stop the pinging, although obviously it isn't.
