I have a question about the injectors in the Cross Fire System - I have an '84 and ended up with a spare injection system. At some point I took the injectors out of the system and they are in a box together. I recently looked into buying new injectors for my car and found that they make a distinction between the front/right and rear/left injector (both part # and price different). When looking at the two injectors they appear to be absolutely identical. Does anybody know how to tell them apart?
The problem I have is that the set of injectors I have are not in the car and there are no numbers stamped/printed on them, so I cannot tell them apart. Since the replacement ones are different part numbers and have a cost difference, I can only assume there is a difference and the car shouldn't run right if they are reversed. I'm just trying to figure out how to tell them apart.
The stock injectors have numbers stamped into them. It is hard to imagine what you might have with no numbers.
RACE ON!!!
there are aftermarket injectors out there for the 82-84 corvette TBI.. that have no numbers.. they are made in indonesia.. I've seen them for cleaning. Those are supposend to be interchangalble. I don't think so.
Thanks for the info. After all these years, I guess I've never seen any after market, replacement, TBI injectors. It is hard to imagine a company that wouldn't want to have their name on their product, much less not provide a means of identifying one of their products from another.

The original ones are different in an effort to have "proper" fuel distibution. However, MUCH testing and tuning has proved (to me anyway) that it doesn't matter and you can use two of the same injector in and it will run fine.
I ran "MSD" brand, 90 pph, in both TBI Units. Car ran fine, made over 300 hp, idled like stock, and got over 24 mog on the highway; all evidence that "staggering" the injectors is unnecessary.
