I have 94 with the factory Bose stereo system. Both rear speaker amps are bad and the CD player and backlighting are inop on the radio. Would I be better off to install total aftermarket or fix what I have? Thanks for the advice.
To fix CD is $130 + shipping from Dr. Don and not sure but I think it is $90 for amp and speaker + shipping.
So you are looking at $310 + shipping, if you have a low mileage vette it is worth it to keep the stock system. Otherwise I would go with an aftermarket system.
Describe exactly how the amps are bad. What symptoms are they exhibiting. No sound, low sound, squealing, each amp have different problem? How did you determine that their bad. Did you interchange (swap) the two amps to see what effect there was. Problem moved with amp or stayed on stayed on same side?
I used a diagnostic trouble chart to determine that the amps are bad. The LR speaker has no sound, the RR speaker plays for a while then start popping. The symptoms follow the speakers. Where can I get the radio fixed and where can I buy the amps? The car has 90k and needs interior replaced, imagine that, but I dont care if the stereo system stays factory.

i know you a 94, but i have a 89 with the bose stock rears that work fine, so if you want em, i'll take $20 plus the shipping from sacramento. i switched to aftermarket speakers, so these have been in my closet. just an option. . .
