1991 Instrument cluster replacement
The digital display section of my 1991 Vette started to show incomplete LCD lines or light colored grayed out lines last summer. After a few days it started working again. The symptons kept reoccuring the rest of the summer and finally the problem just stayed. The tack and other gauges always worked just fine.
Last month I pulled the cluster and sent it to a guy in the Midwest and after not hearing from him for 3 weeks I had him send it back. I ordered a used cluster from a shop in Phoenix that was supposed to work in a 90 - 93.
Before installing my new (used) cluster today, just for the heck of it, I slid the original back in and the digital display problem was gone however the tack and gauges didn't work. I pulled it out and put the new (used) one in and the digital display just showed some garbled lines plus the tack and gagues don't work.
I'm wondering if I have a connection or ground issue of if I have to reset something.

UPDATE: Screwup on my part. I had pulled the cluster fuse to disarm the SIR (airbag). Once I put the fuse back in everything worked great.
