..but I'll be the first to ask why?? The LT5 is a magnificent engine but your going to have to do ALOT of work IOT convert your car to an LT5 for that much work I'd skip the LT5 and go to an LSX....
However, your LT1 can be modified to make more power than a stock LT5. Now LT5s can be modified into fire breathing beasts and the machinist that did the machine work on my LT1 does LT5s (Brian Ebert) but its pricey since its not a common engine.
It would be a lot easier to get the power your looking for with a 396 and not have any issues with the motor fitment and all of the ancillary items of the LT5 - vacum pump, secondary fuel pump etc.
dont forget the zr-1 zf6 is different then the lt4/lt1 zf6's, not sure if that is due to the size of the block (lt5).
