I am trying to replace the mast on my 89. I took the motor apart and cleaned everything up and greased well. Now I guess I need to know what tells the antenna motor to stop it pulled the antenna in and wanted to keep going..... I unplugged it before it would strip the new plastic ribbon. One issue I may have it when I reassembled I am not 100% positive its back together right. There is a round plastic washer (about the size of a nickel) with a notch on the outside that for the life of me looks like it can only fit one way. Could that be the issue? Someone posted some great pictures on another thread but my antenna is different. Thanks Eddy
PS if anyone has a diagram that would put me over the top!
Ok I solved the problem the little plastic piece was supposed to be under the flywheel to turn a gear that turned the motor on and off and in opposite directions! I was an idiot but thought I would post this for others who decide to tackle this and get lost. Cheers Eddy
