I have an 87 Roadster and plan on buying the lowering kit from V.B.P.
I like the look of the lowered C4.
Has anyone compared performance gains in an Autocross with the car lowered?
I hope this will help when I run my next autocross.
I like the lowered look as well. I don't think there would be any gain. If you go to low there could be a loss as the suspension would be out of the range it was designed to work in. I would think there would be gains on a road course as there would be less air under the car. Bigger sway bars and such things would be helpful.
Biggest gain that comes from lowering is that you gain more camber, especially in the front, which is really benefitial in getting the cars to stick. Lowering kicks you out of a stock class however.
I installed the VBP sports suspension. The sports monospring system lowers the front about 3/4 - 1". The rear is lowered using the longer b olts, very easy for the rear.
BTW, I hope that the red jacks aren't the only thing holding up the rear. I have the same jacks and I built special adapters for them so that the jacks don't slide on the Y-looking frame points in the back. There is also a hose (brake??) on the left rear that sticks out from the frameand could get cut.

I got it on sale for $1,300. You can call VBP and they give you a discount. If you do a search, you can find the coupon code here in the CF and order on-line.
