dieing issue on a 93
so my boss it looking to get a c4, we went and looked at one yesterday it has a slightly modded lt1. so the notices it has a miss so he pulls the msd coil and installs a chepo coil to find out it had a cut plug wire.
so now with the crappy ( new) coil on once the car gets warm it shuts off and you have to wait till it cools again to get it to restart. he also says the coil gets really hot. on a side note i dont have the build specs but it does have a pretty heavy cam
any ideas on a cause? i told him to try putting that msd coil back in and see what happens
i wish he could find a better late c4 to buy here in tx he has a budget of 7 to 9k and wants a 6 spd

Why would you replace the coil for a miss?
Was issues that pointed to the coil?
A miss is usually related to spark plugs fouled, bad SP wire or opti problem. If you could give us more info, that would help. And a coil is a coil, you can only throw so much spark on a stock car and anything more is just wasted.

like i said its not stock and the guy that owns it thought the coul was messed up and now the stock coil gets super hot.
the thing is when its cold it starts and runs fine once it gets to operating temp it cuts off and dont know why
