I'm looking to find about a 6"-8" piece of the rubber hose that
is part of the OEM air pump system. If you look at the left (driver) side exhaust manifold, there is a smog tree that has branches leading to the exhaust tubes from each cylinder. On the front of that tree is a check valve that is joined to the air-pump steel line via a piece of rubber hose.
The one on my car is ok, I am gonna need a longer piece of this hose
when I hook up the emissions after my header install. I'm pretty sure it's a hi-temp hose. I went to NAPA and they don't carry 5/8" ID. They don't even have it available to them. Any one know exactly what type of hose this is or where I can get 6-8" of it?

Reason: spell check
I know the hose you speak of. But I don't know the size. The closest piece I found at Kragen fit pretty damn tight. I took my old peice to match it up at the store and I don't think they had an exact match. I had to grease it to go in. I used standard hose and it never melted.
What are you trying to do that you need such a long peice. New headers will either come with factory style air tubes so you reuse the stock setup, or they won't which eliminates AIR altogether.

I'm putting on a set of headers that have the smog hookups, but they're a bit short. That's why I need the hose. Simply to compensate for that. Before I get hip deep into the install, I wanna try to cover my bases with what I need. BTW,Thanks for the reply.
You might try heater hose as it can stand stand sever hundred deg. F.
That's exactly what I going to do. I'm on good terms with a servie tech at a Chevy dealer. He said since it's on the cold side of the check valve,
just use a good quality,re-inforced heater heater hose.
