Default Hooker LT Header question.

Which will work better with the LT4 Powerplant the 2149 LT's or the 2151 LT's.

The 2149's are 1 5/8" primarys & have EGR & O2 fittings in place. I know I don't use EGR.

The 2151's are 1 3/4" primarys with no hook ups at all.

Putting the hookups in is no biggie. I just need to know which set "should" give me better performance. Waiting to order.

Thanks

Neal

I got the 2151's just because they don't have any provisions for emmisions, it really cleans up the engine compartment. Technically they SHOULD be capable of better peformance as the tubes are larger but who knows if the extra 1/8th inch is anything your motor can take advantage of.

It really comes down to if you want to hook up the AIR system. If you are going to leave it then I would go with the 2149's as they will look better. I would also highly recommend getting them coated inside and out, else they start to look like crap REAL QUICK. Again if they are already coated and you wanted to ADD emmisions provisions it would look terrible.

Below are a few pics of what they look like on my LT1, no fair making fun of my dirty engine, if it ever stops raining I'll do something about it.

I thought the 2149's were also 1-3/4 but had the AIR Tubing crap..

I have the 2151's very happy with them so far

Do any of the Hookers have D-port flanges, or are they all the old round style?

Not in the long tubes. The TPIS are the same way. This is really not to big of a concern there. You can port to match a little if you like. :)
