Default Rear end time, gear question

Well its that time, seems like the rear is on its way out, only hooking one tire and sometimes loud clunks. So i've been looking and using the search function, so my question is how does this r&p look? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Good choice for an 89 auto? Too low? If so lets hear some ideas.

That's pretty low for a street car.
If you have a stock motor I would stick with 3.07. My stock 6 speed is 3.54 but it is early 1989 and they went to 3.33 from then on.
What ratio are you now?

I'm at 2.59. So anything would be a vast improvement over this. Maybe 3.33s?

Most A4 guys seem to get better 1/4 mile times with 3.07. 3.33 should work O K. Maybe they will chime in.

IF your L98 is STOCK a 3.07 would be a good choice. The L98 does not build power up high so you can't gear an otherwise stock one like you can a LTX.

I like the 3.07s. I changed from a 2.73 and the difference was amazing. I think it's the best gear for a L98.

Why not call Jeff at http://www.jawsgear.com/ He can install a 3.07 or 3.54 thick gear and rebuild the pumpkin.
