Default A stupid question

I just finished my new 355 for my 88. I have the coated hooker headers to put on it when it goes in. Is there anyway i can put the headers on first then sit the engine in or do i have to put the engine in first, then the headers from underneath?

No such thing as a stupid question :D

Sorry i don't know the answer, but from my experience, I would try with headers on,

Would be a lot easier and you can always take them off

yes - no such thing as a stupid question!

I'm putting an engine in my 85 and I'm using the Hooker 2151-1 coated headers. It looks like from the way the tube on the right side runs down close to the back side of the motor mount on the frame that you would have a difficult time putting the engine in with the headers on. They go in really easy up from the bottom though (at least mine did)!

I figured that it would be best to go in form the bottom with them. But first, i have to get the old engine out, which looks like a challenge, lol.

I have seen guys lay the headers in first ...place the motor in ,,,then bolt the headers to the motor.
