...is there proof of 10chp gain by pulling the frisbee or a worthwhile gain by installing a 160 t-stat?
No offense taken; I too like to know the basis for mods...
Performance increases with mods are listed on my site along with a copla dyno pulls.
About 7yrs ago I spoke with Gordon Kollibrew at Carlisle about the "frisbee" delete and he said if there is no vibration when the A/C cycles it's a good mod. It was installed only because vibration was occasionally noticed by the C4 engineers after the new A/C compressor was installed on all '88s. So in reality the "D"-port 113 heads give 10chp more than the '87 Al heads but it was eaten up by the frisbee addition so the '88 L98 was rated at the same chp as the '87.
I forgot one....I took the vanes out of my air pump....it was pretty easy and then you don't have to buy one of those air pump eliminator brackets...prolly not a lot of power to be had there but it all adds up.

Thats what i would have done if the entire thing wasnt MIA from the begining so i just sprung for the bracket

You have a very good site there
I may question the actual gain but not your source or testing. Outstanding real data in a format that is clear and concise. With that said, if a GM engineer says that the frisbee can go who am I to argue.
Heck, I basically turned my Corvette into a 1970 Chevelle so it is pretty obvious that I shouldn't be giving or questioning any of the advice given here
It was my graduation present to my son who originally opened this account(an original yellow 1987 5.7). It got hit by a little old lady square in the door post and was not worth fixing. He kept the IROC57 plate as a tribute to that car and put it on his vette. It now resides on his Acura RSX
