The left side head light motor on my 85, after 23 years of fathful service, died, so I installed a brand new one, it worked for about 2 weeks and now it will not go down, have to do it manually, I took the motor apart, and could not find any thing wrong, put it back in and it still won't go down, any help would be great, thanks
Yeah, the motor runs, head light goes up, just won't reverse to go down, will recheck everything, this going down thing seems to be an epidemic everywhere
Does the motor stop running when the light goes up or continue to run?
You could unplug the headlight door controls and jumper the LH motor to the RH side to see if it operates; if so the problem is in the wiring or the controller.

Be careful, the Right Hand headlight door motor gets the "Down" voltage from the isolation relay. Check Agent86's diagram. It's actually easier to follow along using the factory service manual. If you get one, it's easily the best investment for your car. Good luck.
