Ok, i went out to look to see where the jack points were on my 94 tonight and when i looked under where the arrows point to jack it up there wasn't any frame for you to jack up. You could see where some one had jacked it up or tried cause there were big dints in the floor board under the car. I don't want to have to jack it up there cause it is already dinted in really bad. What in the world are you supposed to jack it on since i don't see the frame or anything? thanks for any help cause i need to get my car jacked up for my new exhaust i'm putting on tomorrow
Hmmmmm, you should be using the very edge of the body/frame where the arrows are pointing, not actually under the car (pan area). If you have the stock jack it should be apparent how it goes due to the shape of the lift point on the jack. If you look under the car at the "jack here" area you can see that the frame edge and body panel meet in this small area, you lift at this edge. I haven't tried lifting up an entire side or front or back yet. I would think that you could probably slide a jack under the rearend and lift very carefully and then put stands at the jack points. It looks very tricky and might best be solved with a set of the drive on ramps.
As I said, I've never done the entire car or a whole side. It might be best to get more info from someone who has, I just thought I'd help you find the proper lift points and bring the message "to the top" for the experts to give an input. I do remember a discussion about this subject in another thread here but can't find it now. Maybe you can locate it better than me.
Good luck!

It is possible, with jack stands to lift the entire car off the ground. Using the car's jack or a floor jack, place the jack SLIGHTLY off to the side of the "jack here" notation on the lower side of the car...make sure it is ONLY a few inches, enough to give you the room to place the jack stands directly under the "jack here" notation. Be careful not to damage the brake lines, looking under the car, you can see how much room you will have to play with. I would keep the jack stands at their lowest position until all 4 sides of the car are off the ground, then raise each position individually with a jack until you have the jack stands at the dersired height. Even with the car on jack stands, I personally would add an extra measure of safety by placing large wooden blocks or cinder blocks under the vehicle.
Good luck!
The frame rails are under there somewhere, just maybe the plastic panels are hiding it from obvious view.
If I lift my car at the jacking points with my handy-dandy floor jack it will bring the whole side up off the ground.
I'm doing the 3.45 gear swap this weekend since I am off work all next week. Just hope the bushings I ordered make it in time.
thanks guys for the replys i wasn't sure if you really jacked it up on the very edge there where it says jacking points or not... I was wanting to use my floor jack that i have handy since i don't even know where the jack is, if it is even in the vette... it may not even be there
