Default New Trans Cooler, what ya think?

JEGS extra high performance plate and fin design transmission coolers are 33% more efficient than similarly sized fin type coolers. Electrostatically powder coated for durability.

I'm thinking about mounting it towards the bottom of the radiator (front side of course). The one I got is 11" x 6".

Should be fine. Smaller coolers remove quite a bit of heat for their size.

towards the bottom-had me concerned in the beginning, but if it is a plate design, I guess it's tough enough for a few stones. Nice Cooler

Yeah its the nicest one they make without a fan. I considered the thin one you mount to a frame rail but this one has more surface area.

I'm not sure it's worth it without a fan. If you have a front booster fan, maybe mount it behind that and put a manual fan switch on it.

It's definately worth it. I've been using my B&M for a couple of years now. It runs a lot cooler than the stock setup. Mounted in front of the radiator the stock fans draw air through it. My trans temps here in the south typically range from the 170's to 180's depending on conditions. I saw 19x once when a a fan relay was unplugged with outside temps in the upper 190's in stop and go traffic.

How much cooler then stock at a cruise? 180° plus 40° if this is pan temp, is still to hot. Mine will run 135° at cruise but 200° is no problem without a trans cooler fan in slow traffic and A/C on. I just bypassed the radiator and picked up a fan hoping to bring down the slow speed temp. Sometimes the cruise temp is to low even.
