1988 instrument cluster issue
When I am driving, more usually at night, the cluster will go dark, the turn indicator and high beam indicator lights will light up also, the high beam headlights. If I gently tap the cluster everything goes back to normal. I have had it happen during the day as well but not as frequently. I would guess that it is a bad ground but before I open up the cluster, I thought maybe someone would know where to look. Thanks in advance.

I've got the same problem with my 86, except tapping on the cluster didn't help. I've been told it's a classic "loss of ground" symptom. I'm hoping to find a loose connector at the cluster or further back. I don't want to open up my cluster unless I absoluty have too. I spent $350 for a replacement cluster and, naturally, the warranty is up.
