Default FIRST pics

OK, finally got around to taking some pics of my FIRST install. Have gotten the fuel pressure situation worked out, but still need to get a tune. Still, it's running like a raped ape and pulls hard at least till 5200.

Anyone else do their install yet, or am I the FIRST ?(pun intended)

So you're thinking 5200 is it's peak or does it have more in it? How much was it? Looks good.

Aren't new power plants just too cool?!!

Very clean engine bay...like the red manifold...shades of LT4 motif.

I don't know how much it has left. My goal was to make this a good street engine, not a dragstrip screamer. This is with an auto, not a manual trans, so even shifting at 5200 is not likely on normal use. Basically took it on my "test road" and let er rip. Decided to shift at 5200 for no other reason than I was running out of road, and from my research prior to buying, that this doesn't have much more left in it at about 5500. No drag races yet, so I don't know qtr times and such. I can say, for my usage, it's every bit as good as the superram it replaced, and I can say it's a great alternative for those that don't want a superram for whatever reason. I don't think this is in the same market as those looking for a miniram. Group buy was $850.00. Mine was a lil more with the options I chose. Still a whole lot cheaper than a superram. Is this for someone wanting to make the fastest car out there? Definately not. Is it a good street intake alternative to a superram or modded TPI's? definately yes! Still would like to hear from others that have purchased this. Future plans, besides a tune, is to replace the manual fuel pressure regulator with a boost/vacumn reference one. Other than that, it's running great. Thankx,

Looks great!

I'd like to hear more about utilizing the round TB. Did you have to change any cables or anything like that?

Nope, bracket had to modded, slightly; but, nothing major. Cables all fit as factory stock. Throttlebody does require a round adapter to mate to the MAF. FIRST sells that.

Very Very nice. I did a 383 installation in my c4 but kept it looking stock. Got 378 ft/lb torque on a dyno.

Where the heck did you get the 383 logo on the valve covers and where do you get center bolt wire spacers ? I love the intake too.

Nice, I admit I was skeptical and I am glad I was wrong. So now can you tell me are these LS1 throttle bodies/ Ford throttle bodies? What would you buy if you want to upgrade and what mm size is the one it came with? Also, is there a special bracket for the TPS sensor?
Sorry for all the questions...I really like it!

Logos are just die cut decals in reflective red. Looms are from Hot Rod Lane. Thankx, Tom

Thankx, the throttle body is First's invention, not a seperate piece. I believe it's 950 cfm, they have more info on their website. I don't think the throttlebody is upgradable. FIRST sends it complete with all brackets needed, including the Tps bracket. Tom
