LT1 Resonance Issues?
Many LT1 Vettes and F body owners have swpped to aftermarket exhaust and most are happy to my knowledge.
GM put the reasonator on LT1 vettes.
What does it do besides add weight and make the car VERY quiet.
Is there such a thing as a reasonance problem and what would it sound like?
I was thinking of going to a 2x straight or H pipe there.
Does dropping the reasonator make the cars sound significantlly better/add any power w stock muffs? Which is more restrictive the reasonator of the muufs?
I'm sure I'll go to aftermaket muffs too eventually.
Thanks
Evan

Just loud violent base. I can't stand it.
My cats are where the resonator normally is on an LTx car so I guess I can't use one without a redesign.

I hear the muffler eliminators sound good with less resonation, however, most states I know of require some kind of a muffler to pass inspection. I've been thinking about a dual in/dual out muffler in the tunnel where the stock resonator sits, and then just straight pipes from there out to the back. It's a tight fit but it would save weight and I'm hoping it will retain the growl but reduce the resonance.
