This is what I ended up with. I've been through a lot of combinations.
Muffler elims and keep the resonator and cats. The sound is great and it's easy to do. I also have shortie headers which help with the sound. Performance wise, the LT1 exhaust does a good job and without headers there isn't much you can do to make performance gains with just muffler swaps.

Not on an LT1/4. Let us know what year your Vette is. But it is always a good idea to update your PCM or ECM to maximize your efficency. Now if you get into cam swaps, head work or stroking, then you have to update your ECM and maybe look at increasing your injectors.
