Just replaced my headlight motors, everything is great, except now my light dimmer dosn't dim and when my lights are up the lights on my radio and ac/heater cluster bont work, but I have ac/and heat when I put them on ?? Anyone ??
Sounds like a ground problem. I once painted a '56 Chevy and the turn signals caused the back up lights to illuminate. The new paint insulated the body (ground path) from the light housings. Hit a bump and a new combination of incorrect lights on would happen. Had to take off all the light housings and make sure their screws were into bare metal.
Don't know where the grounds are on your year are but find them and make sure they're clean; especially the ones near where you were working.
Good luck
and please post the resolution of the problem.
Hello,
When changed over to halo headlights, I had a few issues. Mine were ALL corrected by taking each lead out of both headlight plugs and making sure they were clean and tight(I also used die-electric grease when I put them back together). You might try this and also similiarly to any other connections that were taken apart.
I don't know if this will fix your problem but it fixed mine.
Also, did you have the battery connected or not, while you changed out these parts? It is possible that you could have shorted or fried something that you need (If you didn't disconnect the power).
Once again, I am not a Vette wiring expert but I would check out these items.
