Just want to cut thru the chase...everyday driver 94 LT1 all Delco,
13" F rotors/calipers and std 12" R. Looking for a low residue, not too aggressive on the rotor type pad, no heavy demands. Semi-metalic, Carbon-Metalic, OEM Delco, Hawk HPS, or Brembo????
Another question is there a size/profile difference on the std Delco pad designed for the 12" or 13" rotor or interchangeable? Thanks
Use Hawk HPS and you won't regret it, I usually "windex" my chrome wheels once a week. Also, no difference between the 12" and 13" front brake pads, they're interchangeable.
I have been running the Bosch Ceramic for about two years now. Absolutely no brake dust, no unusual wear on the rotors, and the vette stops quick and straight every time.
both of the above suggestions are good with the hawk hps being the more aggressive of the two. another option that's worth a look are the brembo closeouts. right now a guy on ebay is selling the FD-1000 brembo pad that fits the PBR caliper {ours} best part $19 bucks. i think tirerack still wants like 4-5 times that. at any rate i did buy a pair and they are just as advertised. just search 'corvette brembo pads'. this pad is similar in bite, dusting and performance to the HPS>
From your preferences, I would definitely go with a ceramic pad. As long as you don't take it to the track, it will provide all the stopping power you need with little/no brake dust and not much wear. I'm using Hawk HPS's on my Vette, but on my last car I used Bendix ceramic pads and they worked very well.
there's no debate that ceramics are the lowest dusting pads out there. the first stop is also strong, the only place that they show a weakness is with repeated hard braking; which i doubt they will see based on what you have said. sounds like the right choice for your application. now you just have to figure out which brand of ceramic to use

Saw a bid opening @ $19 but no "buy it now"... so I bid $19.99 such a deal! Thanks
you guys can email him if you want more, that dude has tons of sets. i bought one at 19.99, see if he'll do a buy it now for $30 shipped. mine just came in a couple days ago.

i try to give good hook-ups when i know where they are
Another great hook up is corvetterecycling.com, 801-447-4700 talk to Colton. $20 rotors Delco NOS, 12" or 13"
Still another epowershops.com, 866-608-0750 buyer discount club, $441.77 shipped for MSD distr. Try $520 plus shipping elsewhere!
The list goes on...speed bleeders from Advance @ .95 pr..$15-20 elsewhere
Don't have a problem w a vendor making a fair profit but some of this stuff is excessively Corvette taxed.
Chime in guys... isn't that what this forum is all about???
Knowledge is power!
Cheers

corvette tax LOL, my first thought is radiator. i'm sure they smile when people order direct fits. as far as corvette recycling, i bought some of their rotors. talk about an inexpensive, quality brake job. brembo front pads, hawk HPS rear and delco rotors. basically $200 for a very good street setup. as far as that msd 8366, the performance parts warehouse is selling them for $308 shipped. go to ebay and type msd 8366, they have an ad up there.

I'm on your side 100% but that MSD 8366 wouldn't come close to fitting a Corvette LT1. Look @ the length of the drive shaft, must be 6 to 8 inches. Believe you meant the 8481....saw the cap & rotor for $154.60 buy it now...no super special on the whole tortilla...check me on this if you will.
Did exactly same thing you did on my brake setup.
Great minds must run in the same rut..ah!
Cheers
Jim
