I replaced the tach in my 90 with one from a 92 because it jumping all around and was way off. Now since I've replaced it it works great until about 3000rpms. After that it slowly creeps up. Any ideas? I'm wondering if I still need the tach filter for a newer cluster? Thanks!
On my 87' a wire was pulled from one end of the filter. If you are careful, you can cut back to the attachment surface where a new wire can be easily soldered. Once installed, use tape to make a form which can be filled with epoxy glue. Works fine.
I am looking around for another filter. Once I find one, I will determine and post the values so you can purchase them from other sources such as Newark electronics.

Thanks that would be great. You can buy a tach filter at the usual Corvette places, but I can't justify spending $50 for one.
