Default LT1 Shocks

96 Collector Edition, looking for new shocks. Which brand works best - Bilstien or Edelbrock thanks for the advise.

Consensus seems to be the following:

KYB on a budget
Bilstein for OEM level quality & performance
Koni & QA1 for adjustablilty & performance at a price

I'd get Bilsteins; fairly inexpensive, work well.

I would avoid Edelbrock and KYB completely.

I just put the KYBs on mine a few weeks back ('94 with 60k miles). I work at a tier one supplier, and I happen to develop test equipment for dampers, so I was able to put them on a shock dyno and do some damping force checks. The original bilsteins had less than half the high-speed damping, and half the gas force as the new KYBs, and each pair of KYBs charted nearly identically to each other. The car is MUCH better over bumps, etc, I can't say if bilsteins would have been better, but for the price I am very happy.

I love my Edelbrocks on a 92 convertible. There soft when just cruising but firm when I get aggressive.

i would probably buy the tokico hp over a kyb on the budget side of things. groupawheels has the tokicos down at 194 for a set of 4
