Default Block Drain Plug???

I am in the middle of changing my coolant and I can't find the block drain plug. The factory service manual doesn't tell me where it is. I need help. I have the radiator drained, is that all I need to do? Or do I need to drain from the block drain whatever and wherever that is? Help???

Read my last post and thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge and support.

On LTx engines, the block is drained by removing the knock sensors on each side of the block. Not sure if the L98 also uses this method.

On L98 block draining you have also to remove the knock sensor.

On my year I used the knock sensor on the passenger side of the block, there is a metal heat shield over it if I remember correctly.

There is no drain plug. The knock sensors are the drain plugs so to speak.

There is a drain hole on both sides of block(just after of lower center).
Drivers side has a plug or hose/nipple to oil cooler and pass side has the knock sensor in the hole.

When you disconnect the knock sensor is there a round white ceramic piece connected to the bolt that you have to unscrew to drain the fluid. And what size is the bolt?

Holy Crap!!! I found both drains. Unbelievable. The plug on the driver that is connected to the hose, was so old that I had to cut the plug and will buy a new hose tomorrow. This is just incredible, the amount of frustration and satisfaction that takes place at the same time. I will also call ecklers or mid america tomorrow to find out the size of wrench I need to loosen the knock sensor. One project turns into two and three and....well you get the idea. thanks everyone for your support and knowledge. Todd

Use an adjustable wrench or start trying box ends until you find one that works.

Also take care for the correct torque by mounting the knock sensor again. The knock senor is very sensitive and if mounting with inncorrect torque you can damage it....

Socket works on the knock sensor, as well.
