I have a 1995 LT1 with 6-speed in which I just completed installation of a Golen 383.
On the 1st road test, I found it stumbled/hestitated at about 3000 rpm. Using DataMaster to log the driving session, I discovered that when it stumbles, Spark Advance is reduced to 16 degrees (typical value is 38-42) and the fuel is cutoff to the injectors (Base Pulse Width=0 and INJ DC = 0). Also 02 Volts on both sides go to less than 20. No error codes. Car runs good, but lean, until the above described events occur.
MSD Opti, wires, plugs, O2 sensors and ICM are all new.
I am trying to contact both the engine builder and chip tuner to discuss this, but I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas in the mean time. Thanks for your help!
Oil pressure is very good (60-80), as measured with a mechanical gauge and the gauge on the dash. Could it be the sensor failing intermittently?
Depends.
If there's redundant oil pressure 'readers' (analog/digital) one might be showing that oil pressure is good, but somethin' else is happenin' that is causin' the computer to lose its own 'read', so it's shuttin' down.
