Anyone know anything about these guys?

I have been researching Golen, Chicago crank, and others.

The thing is with these larger builders, there seems to be some horror stories. I understand that when you build a lot of engines, there's going to be an occasional problem I also understand those people who get screwed tend to rant and rave more than happy customers, so I take those situations with a grain of salt....

I'm thinking that a small, local shop would produce a more predictable result than a company which does a higher volume.

Can I have some opinions?

Pat Musi is a good engine builder who just moved into a larger shop in Carteret, NJ. But he builds mostly high dollar RACE ENGINES! alot of stuff in the 900 and above HP range. Stuff for outlaw street racing and top sportsman stuff. You might be better off going to a smaller shop and get better results. Head out to your local strip and see who builds some of the faster street engines. Pipe

I spoke to him on the phone, he's perfectly willing to take this on..and his price is good, and his reputation is fantastic....

If he can build a 900HP engine, a 400HP 383 should be a piece of puss!

I'm hoping for 450, but that's what I'm thinking. his prices are the same as everyone else, and he said he'd take the job....

I'm thinking to go this route...
