Default Help engine took dump!

Hey I was wondering if any of yall could help me here. I have an 84 vette crossfire injection. Before I changed the oil the engine was perfect, now after driving about 20 miles after changing it, it started missing a little bit. The more you push down the gas the more it wants to miss. If you drive it easy it wont miss at all. I just put new plugs and wires on it about 2 months ago, and I have checked the timing. When it is hot it it really hard to start, takes about 3-4 seconds. It has never done this before. Oh and to top it all off my transmission started dripping tranny fluid yesterday, and one of my u-joints just started squeeling lol, havnt had a chance to pinpoint that yet...Any help would would be appreciated thanks!

Changing the oil shouldn't effect the running of the engine. There a couple things that might be causing your problems, What is the condition of your battery and charging system? Low battery and or charging system could cause the problem. How ever you would be having the miss when the engine is cold or hot. The most common cause of hot no start or poor performance is the coil. I assume that you have checked all the plug wires and electrical connection if you haven't give them a check. I'm sure that other members of the CF may have other answers to your problem, Good Luck!

It's trying to tell you something. If it were a TPI car I would tell you to check the injectors and fuel pressure.

I recently had a similiar problem with my 91. Found the 12volt input wire to the coil had a broken locking tang on the plastic connector. It had backed out of the socket and was barely making contact. Once I replaced the connector and cleaned the terminal on the coil, all was well....

Check the easy stuff first, but the symptoms you describe sound like a loose timing chain.

I brought a fuel injected car to a quickie oil change place and they intentionally splashed some oil in the air filter area. It is a strategy used on old cars to capture dust. Needless to say it's not good for the MAF sensor. One of my rules now at an oil change is don't touch my air filter no matter how much protest I get.
