Default Problem returns

My low power and severe mis fire issue has returned!!!It started running rough intermittently and then went completely to hell.It starts right up idles and revs great put it in gear problem starts. It has an auto trans,I replaced the plugs and wires and cap and rotor also the coil because the white wire had shorted to ground,(rubbed on the coil block)Still runs terrible.Replaced the MAF sensor about three months ago,Checked for codes today and there are no codes stored.I had an incident about two weeks ago where it ran bad and I got a code for the spark control module.Replaced it as well,Before I found the coil issue any chance that short ruined the module?

sounds like a spark/timining issue. i'm not sure what would have been taken out with your short but i have had similar happen with a car that had old plug wires that were leaking on each other. did you make sure that all of your new wires have been put on correctly? one wire crossed up can cause similar issues. also, have you made sure that the single brown wire by your brake booster isn't unhooked on accident?

Yes but there were significant differences across the C4 line... started with crossfire, TPI, then the LT1

While you were in the distributor you should also have replaced the spark module, they don't last forever. Pull a plug wire and use a grounded clip lead and have someone crank while you look at the spark. It should be nice and snappy and easily 1/2 inch.
Also, when you ask for help, provide as much information as possible, no one here is clairvoyant and we are offering our help for free and you shouldn't expect us to go looking for what year vette you have nor put up with smart remarks.

Maybe you should just sell it then, and buy a Moped.

Would a spark module decrease spark? I thought it just turned on the coil like points, just solid state, and there are no contacts to burn, so it seems it should either work or not work, although anythings possible with electronics!
