It's not too terrible. AC and fans can all stay on. You need to remove the upper rad shroud. To do that, there's a series of 10mm screws along the upper back edge, and sides of the shroud. There are also a couple of 13mm (I think) nuts on the sides.
You'll also need to remove the relays from the driver's side of the shroud.
The PITA part is that there are 3 screws on each side of the front of the upper shroud that are down low at the front. You have to get at them from the sides (where the air pump is on the driver's side, and the coolant tank is on the pass side). Swearing and various combinations of drivers are your best bet. You can actually reverse the 'nuts' for them when you go to reinstall it so you can put the screws in from under the bumper which makes it a little easier next time.
When you pull the shroud off you'll need to wiggle it around a bit to get it past the AC lines on the passenger side, but it will go.
The only other thing you'll need to do is drain the rad and disconnect the hoses.
Once you have the shroud off, it just lifts straight out without having to remove the fans or AC condensor.

My website recently got accidentally deleted by my ISP. I had some of the install pics linked from it. I'll try to get it back up by tomorrow.

IF yours is anything like mine ('84) or the one pictured by rickreeves.

All that needs to come off is the upper part of the cover. Leave the fans. disconnect the two coolant hoses, the two oil lines, the lower one seems to be very tough, The low coolant sensor wire. and that collector that is part of the A/C....just loosen it and zip tie it out of the way.

Then just make sure all the 10mm and 9/32nd nuts are out and lift the shroud off. Then the radiator just lifts out.

Be ready to see so much more dirt and debris than you ever expected.
