Default Good power?

I put down 300 and 330 torque on a mustang dyno which reads 20-30% less power then a dynojet. All i have is EM LT's and SLP cold air, also it was 93 degrees out side. From what i kmow this is awesome power but let me know yalls opinons!

It would help to know a little about your car, like the year and engine. But that sounds pretty good to me.

Generally the output is corrected, so the 93 degree heat shouldn't matter.

Wow I would say that is fantastic power compared to my car.

Last year I had my car (95 A4) to one of the best tuners on the west coast TJ Wong. On his mustang dyno I ran 292 RWHP and that is after:

Stainless LT headers & RT cats
LT4 Hot cam full kit
New lifters
HD timing chain & sprokets
New Opti, plugs, wires & tune

My base line run on his Mustang dyno was 252 RWHP with only the Headers.

So I think that you've got great power

Everybody tells me Mustang dynos are conservative. I to have mild mods on my 94 6 sp., Vortec forced air, Borla cats, 52 MM TB, shorty headers, &
1.6 RR's, new eng & tranny w 15K, 143K chassis.. Expecting at least 30+HP at RW's. Don't expect the VFA to contribute anything on the rollers but just wait til we get to where the rubber meets the road!
My ride currently undergoing autopsy for electrical issues, MSD distr in my installer's possession. No bragging rights....the fat lady will sing in Jul. aft dyno.
Chitz fire Will, believe the Mustang & use the Dynojet results in your war stories. Just an Okie telling a Texan what to do.

Cheers
Check your 6

I dunno, I can swing the readings on my dyno 30 HP just by tweaking the settings on it.

What kind of MPH does the car turn in the 1/4 mile? The 1/8 mile? Those numbers are more indicative of real world power than what a dyno says.

If you apply all the BS you read on the Internet, your car can be making over 450 HP. If you apply your 30% theory to your numbers, that works out to 390 RWHP on a dynojet (which I can guarantee isn't true, there is no way your car is making that much power). So, using Internet math, lets take your 390 RWHP and multiply it by 20% to see what you are making at the engine. That comes out to 468, which is completely, and utterly, ridiculous.

It doesn't really matter what it put down on the dyno, as long as you are happy with the car.

You have the strongest stock LT1 ever made or the dyno is wrong.

Ya, something might be wrong or your car has hidden mods you dont know of. Let the track tell the truth. Cause what that dyno says is your lt1 is 20 to 30 hp stronger then the LT4

White Noise,
I too have EM headers for my '89 L98 (not yet instaled.) Just out of curiosity, what are you running from the headers back? Auto or stick? Thanks,

RK

I understand what yall are saying and agree that is why i wanted opinons. The car runs very strong so strong i beat LS2 c6's by 2 cars from rolls and digs and lose to LS3's by a car, I have also ran a bunch of 12 second cars and beat them.

P.S. I have went through the car and it has nothing but the headers and intake which i did. Also on the dyno i did the 1/4mile run and got 12.49 at 111mph

I have heard more along the lines of 8 - 10 % difference between the Mustang dyno and the Dynojet.

As stated above, lets use your MPH from your 1/4 and 1/8 runs, and that is a better indicator of the power you have.

MPH is as excellent indicator. My beast trapped at 102, but the motor is 100% stock.

What does that mean, on the dyno you did a 1/4 mile run?

sorry for the hijack, but where did you do this dyno run at, and do they tune there? I sure could use one.

I have run on both dyno's and the dynojet ussually reads 6% to 9% higher then the Mustang dyno not 30%. My latest run on the Mustang dyno was only 3% lower then the Dynojet.

If you are not the original owner then take this as a "fact"....that car has been modded ...I don't know what.... maybe ...heads.. port work or something...stock Lt1s don't out run LS2 cars "Fact"

doesnt sound stock to me either. I've modded my L98 and it can barely take on LS1 cars, let alone 400 HP LS2's.

There is a simulator which is wthin 2/10's of a second accurate on the mustang dyno i was on you drive just like you would do on the track.

My results:
60' 1.75sec 36.02mph
330' 5.18sec 67.89mph
660' 8.02sec 88.90mph
1000' 10.44sec 101.38mph
1320' 12.49sec 111.26mph

p.s. I got the % diffence from the shop owner i thought he was wrong but wasnt going to argue with him since he did dyno my car for only $20 and said he would do a full blown custom turbo kit tuned and installed for only $5,000
