My 90 auto vert has started making a sound when I turn right. It's not the power steering as I can turn lock to lock stopped with no noise. I have looked to see if anything is hitting anywhere and don't see anything. It is worst with more throttle. My guess is the clutch pack is going out on the posi-track system. The noise sounds like something hitting under the car not a continous noise but nothing is under the car.
Any help is appreciated.
Turning right only? No noise when turning left? Does the noise sound like it's coming from a rear side of the car and if so, which side?
You might try sucking out the gear oil in the differential and refilling with fresh 80W-90 gear oil and two bottles of the GM posi additive. Add the posi additive first and then the gear oil.
Also inspect all of the rubber bushings in the rear suspension components. Look for anything that appears to be cracked, loose or worn.
