It's been awhile since I took this apart, just making sure I put it back together right. And does anyone know what color the wire is that goes to the single pole on the pressure canister?
Orange and red to the switch and tan to the sender. Teflon or pipe sealer required.
These colours are from my 86, good chance they are the same for 85.
Thanks, it's a big ol mess right now. I going through the harness looking for breaks and re-looming so the wiires all start looking the same after awhile.
The sender does require grounding so there is a small chance that putting some type of sealer on the threads could result in an open circuit; you're probably okay to use a sealer. I changed mine a year ago and didn't use anything on the threads. An oil leak is pretty unlikely if you don't use any thread sealer because these are pipe fittings.
